I know this terrific esthetician that I have being seing for my skincare for years! Her name is Mahby Moradi and she has her own practice located at Chez Fa Fa's on Crown Valley, Mission Viejo. I have to admit that she is the best and I won't seek out any other!

LANELLE BYARS STATIONARY!

Lanelle Byars, a fabulous interior designer, had approached me to design her new stationary! New career changes brought out a new vision. Above is a design for her letterhead, envelopes, business cards and a fun little mailer label to get her started! She had another little idea for a promo card with which she will add a seperate series of vellums and card stock to this little nifty promo card I designed for her. I will see if I can get a hold of one when she has them ready to mail out here soon! Stay tuned .....because we will be working on her website too!

RETRO DIVA DELIGHT KITTIES!

I always loved this pattern of mine with the retro diva kitties and with their major diva attitudes! I had just gone online and came across these great pictures which are mostly manufactured by Now Designs. It's just one of those days walking down memory lane and feeling a bit nostalgic! Several years back I had done all my designs by hand with a paint brush and in guache. Thank goodness photoshop and illustrator had come along..... but I still desire picking up that paint brush once in awhile! Maybe one day!

THESE PLACEMATZ AND NAPKINS ARE PACKAGED WITH STYLE!

How fun to have a placematz come in a so cool looking box like this! ASD Living got a little Shag Inspired when they asked me to design this rather complicated box for their colorful line of cotton placematz and matching -or mix it up- napkins. For the napkins we just came up with a simple handtag and they will be creatively tied with black ribbon! Can't wait to show you how this box really folds up when it gets printed!
And here are the hand tags that will coordinate with the placemat box just nicely. Dinner is at eight o'clock and bring a friend!

DITZIE CAKES IS FEELING MORE COUTURE!

Ditzie Cakes is going through the process of being redesigned! I still love the color pink and what would a cupcake company be without pink cupcakes? Ever since I created a gift basket for the St. Joseph's Auxillary auction last November (posted here on my ditzie blogspot) with these fabulous couture tanks, cupcake tattoos and couture looking invites, I just couldn't resist in making ditzie cakes move forward to a new "coutured" level. So, as soon as the new stationary is redesigned and the new website has made it's new makeover.....I will be sure to inform you! Can't wait to show you what I have planned! It's going to be fabulous!

TAKE ME TOTE!

Here is where my Engineering DNA {thanks to my dad who is an engineer} kicks in! My brain was put to the test as it processed the 3- dimensions as a box folds and unfolds by virtual imagery. Not bad for the first time creating a little more than a simple box. I was happy the way this fun tote box looked as well! This Tote loves to go places!

NATURES KITCHEN TOWEL

The idea for the Nature' Kitchen towel was just based simply on cotton! I absolutley love the way cotton looks when it is ready for harvesting and the sillouettes of some of the pictures I came across where just stunning! Beautiful tufts of fluffy cotton nestled inbetween crinkled woody leaves that twisted and turned outward. Well, I have a tendancy to make these curl and swirl similar to the eerie Tim Burton , so eventually I was persuaded to hack off those wicked branches.
Now, to make them look fun and playful was the next step to capture in this design. The rest came naturally.....no pun inteneded! I love green and I love black and especially together! When the final was printed on a natural brown kraft card stock, it blended all together wonderfully!

ASD LIVING'S FLEECE RETREAT

Another great project for ASD Living {Art + Style + Design = Living}. This is a sleeve that will wrap itself around 100% Microfleece blanket. We didn't want the sleeve to be an average generic look so I tried to make the sleeve as creative and stunningly beautiful as I could....
This particular process had gone through many stages as you can see below. I originally came up with a good clean graphic concept. The idea was there but Lisa Wells, the director, had just a little different image in mind. Eventually we got it just right!
And here you go......This is the final result for the 100% Microfleece sleeve that will wrap itself around a warm and cozy blanket.

APRON BOXES FOR ASD LIVING

ASD Living {Art + Style + Design =Living} had asked me to design their first project of many for their premiere line! I was thrilled to take on the task and thrilled to know that there were several of my textile designs chosen to be part of their new line. Yes, of course one of them just had to be the infamous cupcake design as well. In the future here, I will see if I can link you to the ASD Living catalogue and highlight a few of my designs. Right now, luckily I had a little time to create a post or two, and then I need to go back to work! Packaging design has opened new doors as a designer and I am truely grateful for more work and wonderful opportunies with great clients!

ANDIE DESIGNS FOR ASD LIVING!

Well today, we had a little photoshoot with my good friend"s twin girls Megan and Katelyn! Talk about not as easy you think! But this second time around seemed to produce more successful photos of the girls from last weeks. Katelyn is wearing another one of my designs that I did for ASD Living. They are a new company that will be selling in your local store here soon!
Not only do I have a few patterns in their Home Line { Megan is wearing my big polka dot and also the lady bug pictured below} but I also put my graphic skills to the test and designed all of their packaging. NICE! I am currently working on getting a Postcard designed that will be sent out to all of the kid's department stores just in time for the holidays...therfore the photo shoot. The pictures are adorable and I don't want to spoil the surprise.... so when the card is done I will post the finish for you! Stay tuned!

FOUND IT ON MODERN LOLA!

By my surprise, when I was looking for something entirely different online, I came across a fabulous store called MODERN LOLA. I made a purchase for some incredible square cake stands about a couple of weeks ago. I was surprised to hear back from them when they approached me about sending back pictures of what I do with these cake tiers after they had checked out my ditzie cakes website. I was so elated....and that's when I decided to poke around their site a little more. Besides having great baby items....they also carried a few items which I designed!!!! Of course one find is my infamous cupcake pattern on a bib and the other is a cherry pattern. But this cool one ,which I am showing above, is the best find! It's my Menagerie pattern that I did for Robert Kaufman's a couple years back and they are accessorizing a Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller! I love it....and a really love this pattern that I created. I do believe that this is the best usage for this design that I have ever seen for this particular pattern of mine! Thanks MODERN LOLA for carrying great stuff on your site!

HEY CUPCAKE!

Well, as some of you may know, I have a "sweet" reputation in both the textile industry and the cupcake industry! My cupcake pattern has been made good impression to most everyone who loves a good cupcake. But you got to love it when you come across the wonderful CupcakeSpy and see that Jessie Oleson has used your pattern along the side of her own cupcake logo. I am pleasantly delighted by the sentiment because she is just awesome and I love her site! For those don't know her, please check out cakespy.com and if you get a chance go to her etsy shop and see these great bags amongst other things. Yummy and fun!

SWEET GIRLY SKULLS!

My sweet girly skulls were so much fun to create and I discovered a wonderful manufacturer right here in Lake Forest who makes so many wonderful baby items from my girly skulls design! Patricia Ann Designs, otherwise known as PAD Designs has a beautiful edgy collection from baby bibs, throws and moses baskets! They are steadily making their mark and the business is growing as Nordstrom's has picked up their line recently. You have to check out their online store or go into the new Showroom out on Lake Forest. " I love what you've done!" Thank you everyone at PAD Designs and thank you Shelly Bostrom! BTW.... I still owe you cupcakes!

ANDIE DESIGNS PROJECT RUNWAY!

Bet you didn't know that the whole collection called "You've got the Notions" was designed by your's truely! All those fashion illustration classes from my years at Art Center College of Design really paid off when I got this assignment to create a group for Project Runway. The group has co-ordinates of safety pins, needles, threads, zippers, buttons, make it work in a pattern template style and these three patterns shown above. It was a pretty broad group for everything suggesting sewing and notions. My favorite is the fashion girls (just because it's what I do!) and the next one is the dress forms...inspired of course by Jean Paul Gaultier back in the day!

THE HORROR!

I never thought I would have started out my Art Studio Blog in this sort of way titled "THE HORROR!". But after going online to do a little searching for ideas, I had come across this design I had done for Robert Kaufman Co. some three or so years ago! Yes, that's when I did a lot of handpainting and the joy of mixing those perfect colors of guache took all day to do! So, I came across this site online from the UK and they are still selling this great pattern on one of UniquelyDifferent.co.uk handbags!
It brought back such good memories. Isn't it horror-ible! =)
